What is the difference between synchronous and asynchronous learning?
Online learning can be synchronous or asynchronous:
- With synchronous learning, the instructor and participants meet online at the same time, which allows for learner-to-instructor and learner-to-leaner interactions (e.g. virtual classroom).
- With asynchronous learning, learners interact with the content individually and at their own time (e.g. e-learning module).
